A teacher of writing with an M.F.A. degree in Creative Writing and Children’s Fiction, Lois weaves together diverse images and events to create stories for children. Years ago Lois peeked into her best friend’s refrigerator and found empty shelves and one small carton of milk because the family didn’t have enough money to buy food. Maddi’s Refrigerator is the result of that moment and is her first picture book. Lois Brandt is a writing teacher who served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Cameroon, West Africa. She lives in Issaquah, Washington. Vin Vogel is a Brazilian illustrator and designer who has illustrated more than 45 children's and young adult books in his native Portuguese and French. He lives in New York City. Vin Vogel is a Brazilian illustrator and character designer who has illustrated more than 45 books in Portuguese and French for children and young adults. He has also provided illustration and character designs for a wide variety of print, animation, apparel, and web projects in his native country as well as in Canada, France, and the U.S. This is his first book in English.
